Transferability of Credit

Transferability of credit refers to the process by which previously earned academic credits from one educational institution can be recognized and accepted by another institution. This allows students to continue their education without starting from scratch, often saving time and tuition costs.

Transferability of Credit

In traditional universities, students must complete significant courses and electives to qualify for graduation. The Continents States University is working hard to emphasize that all our students benefit from a small portion of their lives pursuing higher education. To be eligible for graduation, all students must complete all major sections in each program-prior life experience or knowledge (or introductory courses). We accept credit transfers from other accredited institutions; however, students must pay $25 for every 3 transferred credit hours.

Each educational institution makes its own decision regarding whether to accept completed coursework for credit. The Continents States University is committed to being an inclusive community free from discrimination. The Continents States University is a competency-based-education online university whose resources are limited.

The transferability of credit is at the discretion of the accepting institution, and it is the student’s responsibility to confirm whether credits will be accepted by another institution of the student’s choice.

Life Experience Credit

In traditional universities, students must complete major courses and electives to qualify for graduation. The Continents States University works hard to emphasize that all our students benefit significantly from investing a small portion of their life to pursue higher education. To qualify for prior life experience credit, students must combine their experience with a credit transcript by the American Council on Education (ACE) or any other credit awarding organization. We accept credit transfers from other accredited institutions; however, students must pay a $25 per credit processing fee.

Evaluation of Credit Transfer

Staff members evaluating credit transfer will be subject to the university’s foreign credentials evaluation training. Also, credentials evaluators will receive full access to the American Evaluation Association resources library when needed.

The Continents States University may award nine percent and no more than 12 credits, whichever is greater toward completing a master’s degree. The university will evaluate the course works and credits submitted by students with a transcript issued by the institution of study, the American Council on Education (ACE), or any other credit awarding agency recognized by the United States Department of Education.

The Continents States University currently has no credit-transfer agreement with any institution. Each educational institution makes its own decision regarding whether to accept completed coursework for credit.

Examples of Life Experience

The university will only accept life experience from military or government employment and peace-corps. Other types of accepted credits must be combined with a certificate of credit issued by a recognized credit awarding agency in the United States or an internationally reputable agency.
