The Federated States of Micronesia is a Pacific island nation of about 607 islands, organized into four states: Yap, Chuuk, Pohnpei, and Kosrae. The capital, Palikir, sits on Pohnpei. The country’s ocean territory is far larger than its land: an exclusive economic zone of over 2.6 million square kilometers.
