Dr. Jamilia Howard is a seasoned education professional with over 15 years of experience spanning both public and private school settings. She began her career as a classroom teacher in Georgia’s Mitchell County School District, where she taught diverse subjects to grades K-6. Howard earned recognition for exemplary teaching practices and was named Teacher of the Year in 2012-2013. She took on teacher leadership roles within her school, leading curriculum development and assessment initiatives. Howard later transitioned into school administration, serving as Assistant Director at Open Door Learning Center. In this capacity, she helped manage operations, curriculum, budgets, and staff supervision. In 2019, Howard took on her first Educational Director role at Sunshine Learning Center in New York. She oversaw all educational programming and operations. Howard implemented STEM/STEAM initiatives, curriculum improvements, and staff development.
She also led marketing, recruitment, and enrollment efforts. Most recently, Howard has worked as a university adjunct professor and Director of Programs & Family Engagement at the National Children’s Center. She continues to pursue leadership positions focused on early education, enrichment programming, and optimizing outcomes for both students and educators. Howard supplements her professional work through volunteering with organizations like the Girl Scouts.
