Can I get a green card after studying in the USA?
Explore your options for obtaining a green card after studying in the USA and start your journey towards permanent residency.

Studying in the USA does not by itself give you a green card. A student visa is temporary. It lets you study, not settle.

Still, many students move toward permanent residence step by step. The most common path is work-based. After graduation, you can use Optional Practical Training to work for up to 12 months, or longer for qualifying STEM degrees. An employer can then sponsor you for an H-1B work visa, and later for a green card through an employment category.

Family sponsorship is another route. If you have a close relative who is a US citizen or permanent resident, they may be able to petition for you. Waiting times vary a lot by category and country.

The Diversity Visa program offers a limited number of green cards each year to people from countries with low immigration rates to the USA. It is a lottery, not something you can plan on.

Investment-based green cards also exist, but they require a very large investment and strict job-creation rules.

None of these paths is quick or guaranteed. Plan for several years, keep your visa status legal at every step, and talk to an immigration lawyer before you count on any one route.

Public Health Careers – Opportunities And Impact Explained

Public health is the work of keeping whole communities healthy. It covers disease prevention, health education, environmental safety, and the policies that shape all three. Epidemiologists study how diseases spread and advise on how to stop them. Health educators run community programs on nutrition, vaccination, and screening. Biostatisticians analyze health data so policymakers can base decisions on evidence. Environmental health scientists look at how air, water, and housing affect health. There is also a management side. Public health administrators run programs, manage budgets, and coordinate between hospitals, government agencies, and nonprofits. Much of the field deals with the social factors behind health: income, education, housing, and access to care. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the World Health Organization publish open data and guidance that anyone can read. They are good starting points if you want to learn the field on your own. A graduate degree can prepare you for the management and policy roles. Options include the Master of Science in Healthcare Administration; read why students choose a master’s in healthcare administration online to see if the format suits you. The Master of Arts in Organizational Leadership suits those aiming at leadership roles. Whatever you study, look for programs that include real projects with health organizations. You can also start closer to home with ways to support public health in your community.
